Dr. Hysell has been serving the Sanger area ever since graduating from Southern California University of Health Sciences (Los Angeles College of Chiropractic) with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During his internship, Dr. Hysell worked with the sports medicine department at SCU, where he trained in activity specific treatment and rehabilitation training of the athletic patient. In his practice, Dr. Hysell uses that knowledge and training on a daily basis to benefit all of his patients, enabling them to return to or continue on with their favorite activities.

Since starting the Sanger Practice, Dr. Hysell has completed a post graduate study in Animal Chiropractic through Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas Texas. He was certified by the Animal Chiropractic Certification Committee and the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association. Now he provides the same attention in his care of animals in the Sanger/Fresno Area as he does with his human patients.

Dr. Hysell was raised as a “military brat.” His parents were Air Force and traveled the world in their active duty stations. He later worked as a civilian construction and maintenance worker at Travis Air Force Base where his father retired. Doing construction in the daytime and studying at night and on weekends, Dr. Hysell worked toward his Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, military programs. This program provided an understanding of human motion mechanics and economy of motion in work ergonomics, which Dr. Hysell uses in practice to benefit patients.

While studying and working at Travis AFB, Dr. Hysell stayed in shape by practicing Chinese Martial Arts at the base gymnasium. It was the foundation for the understanding movement of the human body and movement of Qi (energy), which he built upon once attending SCU where he studied Chiropractic and took courses with Mrs. Hysell at the college of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine.

Putting all of his life experiences and education to use for the benefit of himself and others is a core value which Dr. Hysell is pleased to share with each and every patient who comes in for help in pursuit of health and wellness. Come in and see how Dr. Hysell can help you.

Mrs. Hysell served five years in the armed forces. While in the Air Force, Mrs. Hysell completed her first Master's degree in Education at Chapman University. Mrs. Hysell had always considered a career in either elementary school teaching or becoming a health care professional. When she decided to join her husband in the health care profession, Mrs. Hysell took her love of teaching right into the clinical setting. Mrs. Hysell loves to educate her patients. She teaches every patient how acupuncture can help their body heal itself from the inside out and how to help themselves at home so they understand that quality of care for oneself can reduce the quantity of visits required to maintain a higher level of health.

Mrs. Hysell is an optimist who chooses to learn from every experience whether good or bad. Growing up poor, Mrs. Hysell learned to appreciate all the little things in life. From the Air Force she learned about team work, loyalty, integrity above all else, and excellence in all she does. Through her studies in Psychology she learned to appreciate the complexities of the human mind. Being a compassionate individual comes naturally and easily to Mrs. Hysell. She uses that compassion and her education to benefit each and every patient, as she listens to their individual needs, and composes personalized treatment plans.

Mrs. Hysell considers herself to be one of the luckiest women alive: she gets to work side by side with her husband while helping patients, their friends and their families feel better. Come in and get acupuncture treatment with Mrs. Hysell, because you deserve to feel good.
